You're a better man then me. I'd not speak to them if mine were like this, or I'd least tell them if their obviously ridiculous views didn't change, I'm off. Shit parenting. Kudos on th olympics thing, if my kids ever get that far, I'd be sure to tell all my friends about it for the rest of their lives.
Considering that I (an 11th generation American on my Mother's side and 10th generation on the side of my Father + he was half Native American) have placed an entire Ocean and 6 time zones between my parents and myself... well, that says enough, even if they never listen.
I have a reminder function in my Mobile Phone to remind me to write them every 4 weeks. I have to make an outline prior to the e-mail, as to not say anything that might set them off. It's just not worth the battle.
I've learned everything about "bullies" and poor argumentation from my parents. My mother has the ability to use gratitute as a means of enslaving others. She is indeed fuctional sociopath. Bin Laden had nothing on my mother in terms of psycho-terror. My Father has been (trying) to die for the past 9 years. He gave up a long time ago. They are really miserable people. For me, both "Anti-Role Models". I have no regrets. You cannot rewind... and to constantly say "if only" is always a wish too late.
Funny thing is... I quite happy. Go figure?

Athesim is not a system of belief, but rather a single answer to a single question. It is the designation applied by theists to those who do not share their assumption that a god/deity exists. - MoS
I am not one to attribute godlike qualities to things that I am unable to understand. I may never be in the position to understand certain things, but I am not about to create an anthropomorphic deity out of my short-commings. I wish not to errect a monument to my own personal ignorace and demand that others worship this proxy of ego. - MoS
