My parents are extremely moderate and liberal christians. They are so tight lipped about it that the only way to find out is to ask them what they believe. They believe science trumps the bible every time, and that no one should tell others what to believe. I've only had one religious conversation in my entire life with them and that was when I was fifteen when on the way to church I declared didn't believe in god. So for all intents and purposes they act like atheists in their daily lives. I strongly believe that they only cling to their beliefs because they were born in an extremely backwards and religious area where you just have to believe in god not to be ostracized.
After reading some of the stories here about fundy parents, I have come to appreciate my parents even more.
