Well then let me ask you this. Do you know who God's people are? If not, it's a mystery to you.

It's really not complicated.
God's people are the jewish people. It is their cultural religion.
Every culture developed their own gods, their own creation myth and various stories.
For whatever reason, the jews felt the need to identify themselves as god's chosen people.

In the 17th century, Britain identified themselves as being the New Israel; the United States had its belief in Manifest Destiny, the Incas, Mayans and Aztecs saw their civilizations as being the center of the Cosmos; the list is endless.
