Yeah, it's a shame, islam started out as a relatively progressive social movement - but, as you briefly allude to above..that collapsed.  What would you do, or what do you think needs be or should be done, to right the ship and get it back to something like that?

You're probably not going to do anything like that by coming up with excuses for a pedo, imo.  Or by insisting that a warlord was an example of a man improved by a god.  Just doesn't play well.  The child bride and the battles spoke to his wealth and virility and authority then - but those things aren't seen to be acceptable by the people you're speaking to - now.  Different cultures, different times.

Yeah, nowadays being a pleb is what's fashionable. A major improvement.
