I am wondering why some people treat the(ir) constitution like christians treat the bible: Inerrant and never changing.
Its not as if the founding fathers (of any constitution) were superhumans. We do actually know that in case of the US they were racist, didnt have any problems with having slaves. In fact, some of them even had a "sexual relationship" (if that is even possible) with their female slaves. Women were notintended to be able to vote, or open a bank account (without hubbys permission) until ca. 1970 (iirc). We now know that slavery is wrong, we now know that women should be able to vote. Why should we stick to "everyone should have basically unlimited access to guns"?
Has anyone ever considered that the founding fathers were plain and simply .... sit down now.....wrong?
You forgot the third way christians treat their bible, ignoring the bits they don't like, for example the massive chunk of it that is little more than a hymn to communism.
