Right, and I was pointing that out: you chose a Jewish girl who died at the hands of the Nazis precisely for rhetorical reasons.
I wonder what she'd think now. I think she'd agree with me that she was wrong when she wrote that. Age and experience has a way of teaching you that.
By the way, the entire quote, for those interested in the context of it, reads:
Anne Frank Wrote:In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.
So it appears that she thinks humans are good at heart because her god will return peace and tranquility to Earth, for her own personal reasons ("I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death").
Also, I'm having a little chuckle at the idea of a Christian, who believes we are all fallen, defending Kanye when he claims that all people have goodness in them.
