And for today's episode of 'Full of Shit', IA lets us know that Kobe was his hero.

I don't know what you mean, but I didn't post that to try to prove that I'm not racist by admiring a black athlete. Racist white people are huge fans of black athletes, and if a black athlete can entertain them, then they will look past their skin colour and cheer them on, or they will look at them as "one of the good ones" whom they could sit down and share a beer with. On top of that, Kobe was criticized by a lot of black fans for being "not a true black American", because he spent several years in Italy growing up and didn't have a "true black American experience" or talk "black enough", and he was a snitch for spilling the beans about his teammate Shaq's extra-marital affairs.

Yes, believe it or not, I like basketball, which is a predominately black sport. I'm not pretending to like basketball for brownie anti-racist points or something. Take off your tin foil hat. Kobe was handsome as hell as well. I used to have a naked picture of Kobe as my avatar on a basketball forum I posted at. I'm not really attracted to black women, and although black women are the least desired in society according to the stats and surveys, black men are pretty much on par with white men in society when it comes to desirability, and I can see why. Again, I'm not pointing this out to prove that I'm not racist by finding black people attractive, because slave owners found black people plenty attractive as well, which is why it was silly for Nudge to ever think me being attracted predominantly to Euro features in women was a racist thing.

I brought up the Kobe death jokes only to make the point that, if I'm listening to a right wing political commentator who says some raunchy things, or makes a joke which is very politically incorrect and doesn't share my values, I can still find some value in that content or continue watching it without agreeing with all of it. And if my whole stance on "let's not attack any group of people or treat whites like a monolith, and let's let others have freedom of expression, even on social media" is something that slightly helps out the cause of the white supremacists, then I'm ok with that. I consider it collateral damage as a tradeoff for having a more free society.
