-and why stop there? We can also function without something like 90% of our brains. You can function without feet, and without a tongue. You certainly don't need to hear. In fact, there's very little about the human animal that;s completely necessary to function.
The question quickly becomes...how did we get saddled with all this unnecessary anatomical baggage? Any suggestions?
