If it is the former, then OK, I am teaching evolution to someone who is genuinely uninformed; but if it is the latter then I am talking to a crazy person, which is for psychologists and psychiatrists.
For example, it turns into conspiracy talk if I say that fossils are evidence that species change, but the creationist starts saying that fossils are fakes that are made by Jews and masons.
The same is with flat earthers, aliens, and similar fringe topics, including religion.
Back when I was a Flat-Earther, and some time afterwards, I used to think that airplanes don't exist. I used to think airplanes are a part of the conspiracy. And I used to think that it's obvious to anybody who knows basic physics and thinks with his own head that airplanes contradict the Torricelli's Law. Truly crazy beliefs. Yet BrimstoneSalad from philosophicalvegan.com managed to talk me out of those beliefs.
the only part of that story that defy occum’s razor is proposition that you can be talked out of crazy beliefs.
