The other thing is that Catholic Church moves all priests from parish to parish every five or so years. I guess that it is because they can't settle down and have a family of their own.
I said it was an intended punishment, not that it didn't ultimately act as an award. To me, making a token effort and failing miserably > not even trying. Why, yes, it does suck that the only way I can actually compliment the Vatican on their handling of this shit is by comparing them to another religion that doesn't even bother.
Also, I did not know about the "every five or so years" thing. Then again, the most time I spent in a Catholic environment was high school, and that's only four years.
