No they don't; they may have the might but they don't have the right. Same thing with a hypothetical god; it has the might to mistreat its creations but not the right. And if it chooses to do that, then if it also gives me free will, the one thing it can never get from me is my truly, freely, willingly given love and respect, no matter how it mistreats me with its might. Sure it might break me, but that is not the same as truly, freely, willingly given love and respect.
A parent is not God.
Your parents didn't create you, they only acted as transport for DNA.
You and I were always mere constructs, orchestrated by God in our essence.
The real question is "who made the spark between your mom and dad" ?
That spark which was a life-long cause and effect led to the intercourse between your parents.
Every life event leading to that spark, which caused the intercourse was part of what we call "fate".
Your parents are mere tools.
The only thing under their control was the choice of "doing the intercourse" or not.
That was just a rough analogy. The point was, if you were created, your creator only has might, not right, to mistreat you. And if he does that, he can at most expect obedience, but not genuine love and respect, because that has to be earned.
