As this is a long thread i cannot be assed reading it all so maybe someone posted this before:
They are against evolution as it makes them realise just how sucered thay have been for so long, probably more like how much money they have been sucered out of for so long.
Then they realise that this life is all they have so in order to make a mark to be remebered by (IE leave thier name in science) they find it is to late and instead of blaming themselves they blame the thing which has made them realise this.
As an athiest my future is worm food, but i have left my mark, so no problem for me :-)
