Article in The Guardian today on an educated American who commits war crimes for the Israeli army.

Daniel Raab is a former varsity basketball player from a Chicago suburb, who majored in biology at the University of Illinois. He volunteered to be a sniper for the IDF.

He describes in an interview how he shot an unarmed 19-year-old man, though he doesn't say why. Then when the man's brother went to retrieve the body, Raab shot and killed the brother. Then when the father went to retrieve the bodies of his two sons, he was killed by another sniper.

Raab is quoted as saying that he doesn't understand why family members would try to approach after their loved ones had been shot. “It’s hard for me to understand why he [did that] and it also doesn’t really interest me,” Raab says in a video interview posted on X. “I mean, what was so important about that corpse?”

He also explains that the people he shoots don't need to be any threat. “They’re thinking: ‘Oh I don’t think [I’ll get shot] because I’m wearing civilian clothes and I am not carrying a weapon and all that, but they were wrong,” said Raab [...] “That’s what you have snipers for.”

Normally The Guardian is a very pro-Israel newspaper, so it's significant that they are willing to publish this.

The article doesn't say whether Raab believes in God or not, but his degree from a respectable US university indicates that he is educated. Though it's clear that the University of Illinois failed to give him an adequate education in moral principles.

You're describing a psychopath. Educational levels have nothing to do with psychopathy.

You're also missing a very important point: Mr. Greene was saying that education is the key to relegating monotheism to the status of an historical footnote, not that it will stop someone who gets his jollies from shooting innocent people.
