I'm saying that religious fanaticism may be susceptible to civil and logical solutions in the same way that there's a civil and logical solution to a fucking shark eating all the swimmers.  We could build a fence, for starters.

That's where actually quoting the thought you're replying to would help the process of communication. This post of yours here is much more comprehensible and communicates more information.

To answer your point directly, religious fanaticism may not respond to the logical and civil, but national economies do, which means that political leaders do, eventually ... unless they prefer overthrow. @Ivan Denisovich was, after all, talking about dealing with Israel as a state (his post #65 here, "rogue state" is your clue).

I thought the context would make that clear to all, but apparently I thought wrong.
