So did man get 'morality' wrong? No. For is morality, and has always fallen short of The true Righteous Standard of God.
The true Righteous Standard of God, don't make me laugh. So what is righteous is stoning your neighbour for working on Sunday or not sing seeds of different plants in the same field?
Seriously God is not righteous by any means. morality is fluid and will change over time, it will never be perfect but generally what is it is doing the greater good and/or the least harm, that means going with the lesser of two evils.
In short my little toe is is more righteous then god and any abrahamic religion
