Pushing aside methodological issues, I suggest the point was that the myth of greater racism on the right is just that, a myth. I attended a similarly canted presentation on abortion recently that showed, despite the vocal representation of a slender minority of extremists, on the whole, both the left and the right are very close on the abortion issue. The stereotypical pro-life Republican is just that, a stereotype, and doesn't reflect actual views.
