The really troubling bit about UD's statement with regards to eyes comes at the very end. It becomes apparent to me (and I missed this before) that he might actually think that our eyes are a recent development. Asking for an example of an eye "one stage" down -or whatever the fuck he'd like to call it- from our own eye is always going to involve something in the distant evolutionary past. Camera eyes have been around for a long god-damned time. You may understand what he's trying to get at, but I don't - and if you do, perhaps you could explain it to me in a way that I might be able to understand (so that I could then relate whatever information he's looking for in a way that he understands)?
I can't actually sign on with the notion that he's asking to see the research that demonstrates the various evolutionary pathways of eyes....mostly because he's been given links to it. One of which, amusingly, titled "The Evolution of the Eye" complete with 35 references (most of which being peer reviewed articles), and 4 solid suggestions for further reading. That's just the damned wiki......accessible to anyone with a search engine...
