I assume you are referring to the rise in Christianity in many parts of Africa and the developing world. I hate to burst your bubble, but while many Africans may claim to have converted to Christianity, they generally wouldn't fit your (Western) definition of "Christian". They often still practice their traditional, pagan religions in tandem with attending church. So while they may self-identify as Christian, they aren't, in many cases, actually Christian, rather they follow a hybrid religion. Many still have multiple wives (in areas where polygamy is traditionally practiced), though they may only live with their primary wife and may not consider the products of their secondary marriages as legitimate. It can be argued that Christianity is actually mucking up many traditional African societies.
