Well, let's crack some knuckles!

I believe nothing about god.

I believe nothing about the universe.
I have access to observations which yield the information that it is composed of about 10 billion galaxies, each of them with about 10 billion stars and lots of these with planets. There are also other astronomical bodies such as nebulae, black holes, quasars, etc...
All in all, it's really big.... mind-boggling big...
Try to make sense of this image, if you can:

I believe nothing about the nature of human beings.
I'm aware that they belong to the species Homo Sapiens, of the primates group which are a part of the mammals which are animals.
Homo Sapiens is the only known living species to have developed abstract reasoning and has managed to become the most prosperous living organism on Earth, surviving in almost all possible places on the surface.

I believe nothing about life and death.
I know that living organisms live and, eventually, die. When they die, their chemical constituents are returned to the ecosystem.
(November 26, 2012 at 5:52 pm)gufis253 Wrote: 5. How do we get knowledge?
There are a few mechanisms for that.
-Direct observation (not only by seeing things, but by using any other of our senses).
-Indirect observation (instrumental aids)
-Observation by other people, corroborated by yet other people.
-Postulation of theories which manage to explain observations. The postulations then become a very likely body of knowledge.
- others... wiki tends to be thorough on these subjects.
(November 26, 2012 at 5:52 pm)gufis253 Wrote: 6. How do you determine right and wrong?
The golden rule seems the best ally, here. "Do unto others what you'd like them to do to you; don't do unto others what you wouldn't like them to do to you". I'd say it comes mostly from my upbringing which already included this rule and, perhaps, other rules for a few details not covered by the golden rule.
(November 26, 2012 at 5:52 pm)gufis253 Wrote: 7. What is the meaning of history?
History: the record of events from the past.
It helps us not repeat the same mistakes over and over again.... but it's efficacy is debatable.

Generally speaking, atheist, or to be more specific, agnostic atheist.
