Personally, I wasn't any happier as a theist, panthiest, or deist. My life had no map or meaning back then. I have something to work for now, and an immense feeling of luck at being here, so I am 100% happier than I was now that I'm atheist and don't feel the need to wonder if what I'm doing fits into proscribed notions and plans.
