But I do agree with this.
Another reason why we are better than the USA.
The british public, by & large, seem indifferent to same sex marriages; the result of the last Gallup poll I saw (2009/2010, I think) which asked the public if they were opposed to the idea of gay marriage, was a massive 'don't care'. I don't know how robust the sample was but Gallup generally do their job right so I'm prepared to take it on face value.
