[...snip...]
But if angels appeared people will believe in god ; god doesn't want an easy path like that.
And that is why I don't believe in a god. "Hey, all you had to do was whisper in my ear. You went on vacation, fine, but don't get pissed off because atheism is growing." The idea that god is dishonest, because he gets off playing these games of hide and seek, where he can never be found by the unbeliever, are cute, but are diminished what he is supposed to be.
One of my major rules: I will never pray to a god who is more emotionally or mentally messed up than I am!
I would understand your feelings if you weren't owning a masterpiece like the human mind.
The way I see god treating -and talking- to people in the Quran, it only points out to one thing ; god is taking us seriously more than we do.
Our mind is very strong, that's why god doesn't appear ; your mind should be able to detect him from the surrounding natural structures including our bodies. I -for example- find it really difficult not to believe after knowing what the DNA is.
Life is a mere test, we need to be isolated from seeing god in order to take the exam. God sent us free to roam earth as a test for each of us, eventually you're here for yourself, your work & faith is for yourself ; god doesn't take benefit from that.
The Quran states that this test "had to be done", god doesn't play hide & seek : ) he simply gave us notes & books which describes why we're here. We can study & pass, or stay lost & fail.
It's always up to the person.
