I really feel bad for Christians when these things are pointed out to them because they try so hard to prove to themselves that "that's not what it means", but inside they know it sucks. Leave them alone for a bit and they will be struggling with all kinds of doubts. If they're smart, they'll recover. If not, they'll go and talk to their leaders about this and their leaders will say, "The Lord works in mysterious ways," and, "Who are you to question the Lord?"
