Sod's law got me a few times. Now I don't take it seriously just as I don't take Fodo's religion seriously.
Sod's law from my perspective has always been the strange unknown nature of the unexpected natural event that is mostly unpredicable. We naturaly try to avoid bad situations often and at times let our guard down and expect certain events to take place as predicted. Sod's law is the opposite to our desire and predicted event. So the saying "expect the worst and hope for the best" comes into play. Accidently knocking off buttered toast will cause it to land buttered face down on the floor. It is the unexpected and unplaned natural event. Knocking it off yourself as if to simulate the accidental event will cause the buttered side to land face up. (As I've been told) And so sod's law is acting on the opposite side of your planed/predicted event. Expecting the worst to take place is suppost to cause sod's law to play on and work on your favour. I don't believe in it mind you, I'm just going by knowledge.
Sod's law is the strange and unknown natural event that supposedly works on the opposite side of your intentions and any prediction you may have.
To give a small example, when you intend to say knock something off, it doesn't. When you accidently move your arm and you knock it off...(same object)...that's sod's law. The opposite action to your intentions.
Simple really but it hasn't anything to do with anything spiritual. Just an unknown natural thing.
This is something you either believe or do don't thing.
I don't so that you know, but at times in the past I have thought about it.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
