I enjoy a little bud every now and then, more often if I can spare some cash, and, unsurprisingly, I support full legalization for recreational and medical use. I know that there are quite a few smokers here, and I'm curious to know what the general opinion is of legalization.

Marijuana and the law

It should be legalised for medical, recreational and industrial use.
I knew this back in the 6th grade long before I ever smoked the stuff.
It should be legalized because we are going broke trying to stop it and thrown our civil rights down the shitter in the process.
Bud is more deserving of deregulation than alcohol. I don't even care much for it and still think like I do.
Jane is a nice little thing. Why the hate?
on an entirely different note, who craves brownies?

6/6 for 100% legalization.
I mean really...anyone with a brain, even a partially functioning one, can see that it's much safer than drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. I daresay it's harmless. I smoked up two nights ago and you know what my biggest problem was? Worrying about how to navigate my living room in the dark. Subsequently I then downed two pizza bagels and passed out 4 hours before my bed time. That was some really awesome sleep too, let me tell you. Also it's funny because I'm working through the Demotivational thread and just came across the one that says "Drunk drivers run stop signs. Stoners wait for them to turn green."

Same rules should apply as they do to alcohol. Don't smoke and drive. Don't go to work stoned... Etc etc... Even don't do it in public... Sending people to prison for having a smoke is nuts. Sending people to prison for getting stoned and driving a car is reasonable.
I've never tried marijuana, don't know that I'd try it even if it were 100% legal. But I don't see any reason to have it remain illegal when it's not a harmful drug, fighting it is a huge waste of money and resources and is clogging up the court system, and like alcohol prohibition in the 20's it's not working. People are going to continue to use it regardless of whatever laws are on the books.
I support keeping the same restrictions on it as for alcohol. No sales to anyone under 18 (and the legal age for alcohol should be dropped to 18), no smoking while driving, don't do it in public or at work, etc. I see the current trend moving toward full legalization across the country eventually. Even one or two states legalizing it for recreational use is a step in that direction. 20 years ago we couldn't even imagine states legalizing it for medical use.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Obviously these people aren't dangerous but ridiculous do-gooders for their persistence in not bowing down to a law that takes away ones civil rights and is completely devoid of any morality. If the government legalizes I will still distrust and hate them same as before. Not everyone forgives so easily. |
