He's been conditioned and indoctrinated into thinking his holy book and his prophet is unique, when really they're just poor copies.
It's quite fascinating really. You could point at the Mona Lisa and say "that's the Mona Lisa", do all the tests that would prove that it was the original, and this guy would still deny it and say it was Guernica.
If it doesn't fit into his indoctrinated view of the world (seemingly 99% fantasy), the it must be false because that's what his Imam/family/friends have told him. Unless we agree with him, we're wrong. If reality disagrees with his views, then reality must be re-imagined.
There's no limit to the lies and self-deceit. Again, it's really quite fascinating.
