I never realized until I did Habitat with my frat, but it is very christian based. Every morning before we started working the entire group would pray. And grace was done before lunch too. All in all though its still a good group, I wouldn't mind doing it again.
But to answer the OP question, I've never really felt like I missed anything from a church but then again I never really went to church much as a kid. My parents are pretty lapsed Catholics.
