Now the question remains? Do you want to be rewarded for your suffering or do you want to suffer for nothing?
Leaving aside the fact that only an evil being would inflict suffering purely in order to reward that suffering, this is NOT evidence of God's benevolence or even of his existence; it's just an appeal to wishful thinking.
The fact that one might HOPE that the inevitable suffering involved in living on Earth might in some way be compensated after that life ends has NO bearing on whether or not this is what actually happens.
I hope beyond all REASON that no serious illness ever befalls my kids but I'm under no illusion that this hope could stop it happening...
