There is Stupid and then there is

Not that long ago I caught a news program that featured a piece showing creationists touring a Natural History Museum (I believe this was in Cincinnatti). Apparently, these dopes were regular visitors. What they were doing was bringing groups of schoolchildren to the museum and "debunking" the science. Of course, these morons were pushing their creationist crap on the kids and they wanted to expose them to the museum exhibits so they could point out the "errors". At one point the group was gathered in front of an exhibit displaying dinosaur bones. The head moron read the placard that told how the bones were approximately 65 million years old. The moron then instructed the children that this, of course, was wrong because we know the Earth is only 10,000 years old, and we know this through the Bible. The moron then asked the kids how the scientists could possibly know that the bones were 65 million years old. He then had the kids repeat in unison, "How do they know?" several times. What was ironic was that ten feet away was a display that explained how carbon dating works. Of course, the moron didn't point this out to the kids!

In my mind this borders on child abuse. Filling a kid's head with nonsensical trash. It was sickening to watch.
