OMFG! I can't believe someone actually dragged out the old "Why are there still monkeys?" bullshit.
I know! I get so tired of hearing that. It isn't that i and the rest aren't trying to evolve on up from monkeys. We're just evolutionarily challenged we're not 'monkeys' for christsake.

Again you can see why they do it, but nothing undermines them more I think. I know incredibly intelligent people who think along the same lines. Scientists too.
I'm impressed with the open attitude to our concerns here. Kudos guys.
It sure would be nice to see a Christian organization gain popularity which espoused no desire to see secular society modeled after the bible. A group which would also speak to the value found in their belief in a way that made it clear that it didn't all come down to getting into the good place and avoiding the bad place. A more insightful and thoughtful approach. They could show that science is a friend, informing their conception of 'creation' rather than threatening it. The group would be tolerant and genuinely respect the aspirations of other religious groups and look expectantly to find the value in every life view including that of an atheist. Now that would be one hell of a Christian group and fully ready to take its place in a the modern world.
