Actually, the professor (glad to see you finally made it off that island, mate) is correct in one respect: There have indeed been live dinosaurs in the very recent past. In fact, here's a photo of one:

This pic was snapped less than four years ago. So, the notion that all dinosaurs went extinct 65 mya is clearly nonsense.
