Genetically modified corn is now found in nature. Intelligent design has been demonstrated. Some scientist believe the flagellum of certain bacteria are designed. The general consensus though is that it evolved.....however it has never actually been shown that it did evolve.

Intelligently designed biological systems exist.....shouldn't students then be taught about intelligent design?
Not in the way creationists want it taught, no.
But atheists don't want it taught at all...when it is a fact of reality.
