Can you tell me if you had to exit a religion because you were gay? I mean, if suddenly your local church said " Oh look fuck we made a mistake Jesus says we love gays too" would you want to join up just to belong?
Hello Vodkafan, and thanks for the question.
During my earliest memories I can remember having some sort of fate. My mother dragged my little brother and I to church every Sunday. It wasn't until I entered my teens that I started becoming skeptical. I discovered I was gay at 14-15yrs old. The realization was crushingly painful for me. Still, I believed in some sort of "god". By the age of 18 I was agnostic. By my mid 20s I was fully an Atheist. So it wasn't a bad experience with church, it was just my own skepticism of the foolish rituals surrounded by religion.
I wanted no part of it.
