I have responded to a few of those types of threads. But once I've said my peace, I'm pretty much done. Some drag those arguments out forever! Boring!!
Truth is, you are not going to find a magical combination of words, that will suddenly draw the other person, to your way of thinking. I suppose some just enjoy the continuous bantering?!
