You obviously missed this bit from the article -

In 382, Jerome was commissioned by Pope Damasus to revise the popular Latin translation of the Bible in use since at least 150 AD.

That was before the English existed.

It was called the Latin Vulgate and became the official version of the Vatican and the foundation of all their damnable heresies (II St. Peter 2:1).

The corrupt readings in the Latin Vulgate found their way into the English, French, Spanish, and Italian Versions.

This isn't proof that the Bible was written by English people. It's saying that the English just translated the corrupt and heretical Vulgate version into the English language.

You should be delighted to see that he doesn't have the qualifications to be a reputable scholar about anything. You can now look for those reputable sources of information proving that English people wrote the Bible.

It says in Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) = 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

They dropped the name "Immanuel" like a hot potato.

The real reason wasn't as exciting as protecting the baby Jesus from evil forces.

The gospel of Matthew was probably written in the last two decades of the 1st century, by a highly educated Jew who believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah, "God with us".
