God doesn't seem to mind so much, really: you're the only one sitting here burbling about what he's in control of. I'm pretty sure he can speak for himself, if he's got a problem. In fact, I invite him to come down and let us know why he gets to make the rules for everyone, like some kind of dictator: let him make an argument for why this is so, instead of just having peons assert it by fiat. Because arguments from authority mean jack shit to me, especially when it's borrowed authority.
Any time, god. Any time.
This is one of the main problems I see with people who believe that such a god exists. Why does he not come and speak? Is he shy? Sleeping? Too busy with other things?
“Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”
The irony is that the above quote is actually in the Bible.
I will reply to your question with this passage...
Heb 1:1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
Heb 1:3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

It is truly baffling to me, especially in an age where the sum total of human knowledge is available to all at the click of a mouse. Fine, back in the Dark Age there was ignorance rampant; their world stretched only as far as the neighbouring village and was filled with the stench of disease and death compounded by ignorance. Today there is no such excuse, at least in the relatively civilised nations. Yet people still willingly demean themselves as slaves to superstition and exploitation by any two bob huckster with a prayerbook and an agenda? Madness.
Your problem, Rev, if I may, is that you have spent so much time and effort trying to be a xtian, you've forgotten how to be a human.
Dear Stimbo,
I know you don't like when I go to the Bible for answers but it has the answers to your questions..
1Co 1:18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1Co 1:19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."
1Co 1:20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
1Co 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.
1Co 1:22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,
1Co 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

You may have the power to ban me Mr Stimbo, but you are no avenging angel.
