Well people have been making these sort of predictions for hundreds of years and nothing has come of them. I doubt your friend has any specific insight. If the bible is really making prophesies, why isn't it specific? Why does God leave anything open to interpretation? If an all powerful being really could predict the future he would be clear about it, instead the bible and book of revelations is vague, interpretable and mostly mumbled confusion.

The real way to debunk it though is to say that predicting the future is impossible and there is no good reason to believe in god, making his 'return' rather irrelevant.
