Literally all I know is that brown people in the eastern Mediterranean are blowing each other up. I feel so lost when people talk about this. Help a brother out.
First off - What the hell is "Palestine" anyway? A nation-state by Israel? A city in Israel? Another name for Israel? And who are Palestinians? Are they Jews? Muslims? A mix?
Secondly - What is Hamas? It's just a Muslim sect? Are they state sanctioned? And if so, by what state?
Third - why are these guys fighting? Who started it, and why? Is it only religious fervor, or is it more about territory/resources?
Fourth - who does the US government tend to support, and how?
Fifth - could this bullshit spread and suck in other powers?

It all started with this guy named Adam and his love slave Eve. Now, they was naughty (mostly Eve, but Adam didn't say no!) and got themselves kicked otta paradise. God says no!
A lotta shit happened and along comes this Abraham dude. Almost got his son killed by God.
But to get the point, for some reason, the Jews think they have historical entitlement to the land around there because it says so in their HOLY BOOK of CRAP. Even though there is nary a scrap of evidence that the stories in Exodus (one of their foundational myths) are true. They've looked high. They've looked low. Looked for decade after decade. Came up dry.
No evidence for any of the Exodus crap. No Moses, no David, no great Kingdoms, no enslavement by the filthy rotten Egyptians, no wandering in the desert for 40 years, no parting the Red Sea. No nothing. Oops!
But now, it's too late cuz they kinda sorta set up shop. Much to the prior residents horror.
So yeah. It's a party.
