Yes, I have considered as well what that would do to their happiness if I did choose to become retarded and I have come to the honest conclusion that they would be happier taking care of me if I were retarded and had all the pleasure in the world. Again, I do not see why they wouldn't be happier in that situation since family cares for your emotional well being more than work put upon them and if it's actually the other way around, then I wouldn't even consider them family.

You are missing the obvious choice. You can become a self-sufficient productive member of society and make everyone involved happier.

Although I understand the value of helping others through intelligence and such, the fact of the matter is that I as a person will be nothing without pleasure regardless of how much I help others and I will never be able to receive pleasure in helping others nor will I get a sense of living or my life being worth living through pleasure.
