If my grasp of the queens english is as good as I think it is (it is), that seems to only compare the word to a standard purity for metal. Doesn't seem to suggest it applies to the word itself.
And are you going to point out the hint for your gap theory?
Edit: This I think actually answers my previous question about why god's word needed purification. It doesn't. You should have been all over that. Still creates an issue with this being evidence for your "particular version theory".
Silver in the bible represents the word(see prov 10:20 with psal12:6-7)
The gap theory can be placed between verses Gen1:1 and 1:2. Its something that I havnt studied in depth but it certainly holds a lot of weight because God does skip time periods between certain verses in the Bible.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
You're taking reading between the lines much too literally. Also, you'd expect just a little continuity between the first and second lines of the bible. And by the way Void is an adjective (Descriptor) that means "Completely Empty". Which I'm sure means no fossils.
Proverbs 10:20- The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
Another comparison to actual purity, but not the process (Or number of times required) or ever suggesting that the word needed purifying. This does not support the 7 versions theory. After looking, it doesn't even to seem to apply to "the word", but "The tongue of the just" which I mean to take "Just people"
When you add context:
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
It becomes clear that Proverbs 10:20 isn't talking about the word itself.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
