Slightly related topic. I took the family to 'The Deep' over christmas, very cool aquarium in Hull. I'd forgotten how the first (long) section details the rise of life on earth through the fossil record with some neat interactive stuff. One family were scuttling through it pretty rapid and I'm guessing they were creationists who didn't expect to see that sort of thing in an aquarium!
They must be fucking horrified when their kids start pointing and asking "dad, why does that say it lived 500 million years ago when the earth is 6000 years old?". "This section is pure mythology son, now lets hurry along to the real section with the fishies in".
I'd like to see them when the place is jammed and they have to walk through the section slowly with all us heathens. I'd be so tempted to stand next to them and explain things to my kids loud enough for them to hear, it would be sheer fucking delight to watch them squirm and not be able to get away.
