There is a difference between religious faith and secular faith.
It is possible for a word to have multiple meanings, but I suppose you would rather pick and choose since it is a tactic you learn in relation to scripture.
Religious faith:
I have faith that god exists.
There is no evidence to support this claim.
Secular faith:
I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow.
There is evidence to support that the sun rises daily and, baring the dying of the sun, it will continue to rise each day.
