Can you draw? Animation is another route you could give a go at from home. You can get some surprisingly high quality drawing tablets for PC at really low prices nowadays. There are some pretty awesome vector based art programs free for download online, too
You could even release it in 10 minute episodes as a series on youtube. It's a lot of work, but you'll be kept busy, there's a possibility of developing a social community, and, at the very least, you'll be getting stories that you love out to an audience.
