Ferguson and the Justice Department Report

The only thing bureacracies understand is $$. I hope a cadre of lawyers swoop in on Ferguson and sues the city, police department and culpable individuals for large sums of cash.

The problem with suing the city is , where will the money come from? It is like the BP spill. Sue BP and they raise prices, sue the government and they raise taxes. In the end, we always pay.

Now suing individuals and send their ass to jail still costs us, but it is cheaper and more satisfying.

I'm of the opinion that if abuse occurred under the color of authority, the state has every obligation to shoulder the burden of necessary reparations. I don't think those settlements will result in higher taxes, but even if they do, that is fair, because we citizens have a duty to ensure that the justice system acting on our behalf and in our names is a fair one. And if it isn't, we should bear the burden.
