I actually think that among all things Holy Water is something that may cause real and immediate harm to the believers themselves. There are beliefs that placing relics, icons, crosses etc. near the water or into it makes it "Holy". Sometimes people bring their water with them to a church or buy some nearby, then a priest makes the water "Holy" and they bring it home. The water may stay for several days or even weeks out of the fridge or out of a dark place in unsterile or even badly-washed bottles. Knowing how many uneducated and superstitious people are out there and how many unscrupulous people wish to make money of off them it's not hard to imagine a situation when Holy Water gets literary "full of shit" as in gets infected with fecal matter or some bacteria or generally turns out to be un-consumable and causes poisoning and desease. Roughly the same goes for kissing relics. No-one in their mind is going to kiss a handrail in an underground train or on a bus but some are willing to kiss relics that may have been kissed by literaly thousands of people on the same day. After all there are known accounts from the past when kissing icons and relics caused and worsened spreading of plague.
