Most Christians are Christian in name only, they use the term for social reasons because they think it makes them look good to the neighbors, not because they've ever spent much time thinking about what being a Christian really means. I think the same is true to a certain degree of Muslims too, especially in countries where not wearing the Muslim label can get you tortured or killed. Sure they're going to claim to be Muslim, it's in their best interests. That doesn't mean they really are though.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide mankind that cannot be achieved as well or better through secular means.
