We are the problem.
And, it starts with you. Never underestimate the power of one voice, your voice. You don't have to be famous or rich, all you have to do is contribute consistently with your voice. Social media is dirt cheap and you can speak to all sorts of people, like minded, news media, and politicians. It does add up.
I know if had not been for a Chicago nurse who submitted her opinion as an atheist back in 01 about 9/11 to AP newswire that went national to many local papers, if it had not been for reading that one voice, I don't know if I would have lost my fear of what people thought of my being an atheist. Her putting herself out there motivated me. I don't remember her name, and I will never be able to thank her, but that one single voice started me to be active online daily.
