These false equivocations are abundant.
"God is like an apple. An apple exists, therefor God exists."
"We can't see feelings. But feelings exist. So God exists."
It's not a lot more sophisticated than that. If you want to use an analogy, it has to actually be equivalent in the ways important to the discussion at hand.
