Homosexuality is a sin, and they will be the first to say what their son did was also a sin. Both need forgiveness.
The hypocrisy is them putting on a show of being morally upright when they were not, and in expecting forgiveness when they have been unforgiving of others.
This has been more or less stated in post 17.
