Can you explain again why we should take the word of the bible on this (or on anything)?
And surely god could destroy these (fictional) souls without causing suffering if it wanted. Isn't it supposed to be all powerful?
Who says He does want these a holes to suffer?
I think suffering is the point. For through suffering comes wisdom and understanding. (As fleeing as it maybe.) It was my experience that one quickly comes to understand who God is, what was being offered, and the acceptance of my refusal and all that it truly meant. I also understood the depth and scope of what an eternity of this suffering would mean. (The loss or consumption of my sanity to Hell fire.)
Remember God owes the Dammed nothing. (This includes mercy.) Even though I believe we will eventually receive mercy in the way of surcuming to Hell fire and being consumed by it. This may take a few seconds or it may take millions of years. I believe our time in Hell is based on how wicked and hard our hearts are.

(Say it again In you best Mr. Miagi/Pat Morita not Jackie Chan voice)
More specifically Jesus Teach in Mat 10: 28 “Don’t be afraid of people. They can kill the body, but they cannot kill the soul. The only one you should fear is God, the one who can send the body and the soul to be destroyed in hell.
The body being refered to is the resurected/eternal body you will receive just before your judgement. This body and the soul it contains will be cast into Hell to be destroyed/killed the word in the greek is: ἀπόλλυμι apollymi it means to kill or obliterate. as apposed to:ἀποκτείνω/apokteinō which is translated kill. As one who can Kill or ἀποκτείνω/apokteinō (Inflict a mortal death) to the body.
